How PairPad works

The full mechanics of a paired launch: the initial buy, bonding-curve math, your token delivery and the creator-fee flywheel, with worked examples.

Overview

PairPad launches memecoins straight to pump.fun, paired with multiple other tokens instead of a single SOL pair. There is no book and no waiting: the moment you sign, the coin is created on pump.fun, your initial buy executes as the first buy on the curve, and every token it buys is delivered to your wallet.

1. Launching a coin

Connect a Solana wallet and fill in the coin: name, ticker (up to 10 characters), an optional description, image, and optional website, X and Telegram. Then set your initial buy.

Launching creates the coin on pump.fun immediately. The coin's pump.fun website link always points back to its PairPad page, so every launched coin carries its own provenance.

Pair Pad

Pair Pad lets a creator pair their coin with multiple memecoins instead of being limited to a single SOL pair. At launch, the creator pastes up to 5 pump.fun token addresses, and each one is verified on pump.fun before it is attached to the coin.

How it works

  • Pairs are chosen at launch and locked to the coin; they cannot be changed after it is live.
  • Every paired token is shown on the coin page under Pair Pad, with a direct link to its pump.fun page.
  • The launch buy itself still runs on the SOL curve: your initial buy happens in SOL.
  • Paired tokens signal which communities the coin is aligned with, and give holders of those tokens a reason to care about the launch.

Pairing is a launch and discovery feature. It does not change the launch math: the initial buy and the curve work exactly the same whether a coin has zero pairs or five.

2. The initial buy & the bonding curve

Your initial buy is the very first buy on the coin's pump.fun curve. Nobody can front-run it: the buy executes in the same launch that creates the token, before anyone else knows the mint exists.

How pump.fun prices tokens

pump.fun uses a constant-product curve with virtual reserves. At creation there are about 30 virtual SOL and 1,073,000,000 virtual tokens:

x · y = k    where   k = 30 × 1,073,000,000 ≈ 3.219e+10
k stays constant on every trade.

Buying with S SOL (after the 1% trade fee) returns:

tokens(S) = Y₀ − k ÷ (X₀ + S·(1 − 0.01))
Tokens received for a buy of S SOL at the very start of the curve.

Spot price after the buy, in SOL per token:

p = (X₀ + S′)² ÷ k

Worked examples (first buy on a fresh curve)

Initial buyTokens bought% of 1B supplySOL per 1M tokens
0.1 SOL3,529,2530.35%0.0283
1 SOL34,277,8323.43%0.0292
5 SOL151,969,95715.20%0.0329
10 SOL266,233,08326.62%0.0376
25 SOL485,054,79548.51%0.0515
50 SOL668,094,34066.81%0.0748
80 SOL778,219,78077.82%0.1028

Bigger initial buys get more tokens but at a higher average price, since each extra SOL moves further up the curve. That is the trade-off between size and entry price.

Average entry vs live price

Your entry is the blended average of your buy, not the price the coin trades at right after. The curve price rises while the buy executes: the first tokens are the cheapest, the last the most expensive.

entry price = S ÷ N
Blended entry for an S SOL buy that receives N tokens.
opening price = (X₀ + S′) ÷ y₁ ≈ 2 × entry price
Spot price on the curve immediately after the buy, where y₁ is the token reserve left in the curve.

Worked example, a 10 SOL initial buy: you receive N ≈ 262.5M tokens, so your entry is 10 ÷ 262.5M ≈ 0.0381 SOL per 1M. Right after the buy the curve holds about 39.9 SOL against 810.5M tokens, so the opening spot is ≈ 0.0492 SOL per 1M. The first buyer enters below the opening price.

The opening price is an expectation, not a guarantee. The moment the coin is live, anyone can buy or sell and the market sets the price.

3. Your tokens

Everything your initial buy receives is yours. If your buy of S SOL returns N tokens, all N are sent to your wallet in one delivery transaction, listed on the coin page.

tokens_you = tokens(S)
The creator receives the full result of the first buy.

Supply control

The first buy happens on a fresh pump.fun curve (1B supply), so it buys tokens at the curve price, and bigger buys move further up the curve. The launch form caps the initial buy at 80 SOL: pump.fun's fresh curve holds about 793M tokens and graduates near 85 SOL, so a single first buy cannot absorb more than that.

Initial buyYou receive% of supply
1 SOL~31.9M~3.2%
5 SOL~143.4M~14.3%
10 SOL~262.5M~26.3%
25 SOL~510.9M~51.1%
50 SOL~709.2M~70.9%
80 SOL~788.9M~78.9%

Rounding dust (fractions below the token's smallest unit) stays with the treasury.

The creator-fee flywheel

Launched coins use the platform treasury as their pump.fun creator, so creator fees from all coins flow into one shared pool. Once a day the pool (after the 10% cut) is split across eligible coins by market cap, with a cap per coin:

wᵢ = min( mᵢ ÷ Σm , 0.25 )  →  excess redistributed until Σw = 1
Weights wᵢ come from market cap mᵢ; no coin may take more than 25% of an epoch, and any excess goes to the rest.

Eligibility: market cap of at least $10,000 and activity within the last 7 days.

Example epoch: 10 SOL inflow, 9 SOL distributable

CoinMarket capRaw shareCappedPayout
A$600k60%25%2.25 SOL
B$200k20%≈37.5%≈3.38 SOL
C$200k20%≈37.5%≈3.38 SOL

With only three coins, the cap pushes B and C above their raw share. With more coins it simply spreads the excess.

Risks

  • Memecoins are highly speculative and can go to zero. Being the first buyer does not guarantee value after launch.
  • After launch the token trades freely on pump.fun; prices can move sharply the moment it is live.
  • Your initial buy is held by the platform treasury only for the seconds it takes to create the coin and execute the buy. Verify every transaction on a Solana explorer.
  • Curve figures here are estimates; actual results depend on pump.fun's live parameters at launch.
  • Only spend what you can afford to lose.
